VIDEO GUIDE

1. How to unlock Tower Mode

Tower Mode is a repeatable progression route for points, mastery, gear, weapon upgrades and rare crafting materials. You need to be at least level 65 to unlock it.

Go to Hidden Mist Village and accept the Blacksmith's quest. Follow its marker to the tower entrance and activate it. After completing this unlock, you can enter the dungeon from the game hub instead of travelling back to the entrance for every run.

  • Use the game hub for later runs.

2. Prepare a balanced build and bring potions

A full-damage world-boss loadout is not always the best Tower loadout. Enemies become more dangerous as you climb, so give up some damage if it lets you gain useful maximum health, damage reduction or health regeneration. A balanced setup helps protect your hearts during longer runs.

Black Dragon Armour, Golden Kanzashi, Bamboo Muzzle, Black Lotus Crown and Kintsugi Haori are examples to consider for a defensive setup. They are not a mandatory shopping list: compare each item's full stats with your current equipment and balance survival with clear speed.

Demons do not take sunlight damage inside Tower Mode. If your hat is only there for Sun Immunity, you can replace it with better dungeon stats. Flame Amigasa also has useful damage, health, stamina and stamina-regeneration bonuses, so do not remove it just because Sun Immunity is unnecessary here.

Buy health regeneration potions from the Alchemist in the dungeon waiting area before starting. Use them after creating distance from enemies; drinking while surrounded can leave you vulnerable to a stun chain.

Prepare for the later floors, not just a fast first floor. Survival lets you collect larger point rewards and more free chests.

3. Pick skills that can control groups

You can progress with almost any Breathing or Evil Art when you have enough mastery and understand its skills. Bring several unlocked attacks, including at least one useful ranged or area attack. Entering with only one ability forces you to rely on basic attacks when the enemies become dangerous.

For demons, Blood Manipulation with Sickles is a strong damage option. Start longer Blood attacks from a safe distance so enemies cannot interrupt you before the move controls them. Use Sickles skills to push enemies away or create an opening. Dream and Shockwave are also useful options for range and crowd control.

For Slayers, Serpent offers strong farming damage, while Thunder and Insect provide useful movement, range and crowd control. These are recommendations for this route, not requirements to replace a well-developed build.

4. Normal or Ranked, solo or party?

Normal Mode gives you three hearts and is the recommended starting point for learning enemy patterns, farming materials and trying a build. Ranked gives you only one life and is mainly for leaderboard attempts. Become consistent in Normal before committing to Ranked.

A party spreads enemy attention and gives you help against bosses. Solo runs are usually better when maximizing your own points is the priority. In a group, look for Shared Points: without it, a longer team run can still leave you with fewer personal points.

  • Learning or farming: start with Normal.
  • Leaderboard attempt: consider Ranked once your clears are reliable.
  • Party run: watch for Shared Points.
  • Solo point farm: prioritize a setup you can survive with consistently.

5. Early floors: build stats before chasing points

Clear every enemy on the current floor to move on. Group enemies and hit them together with area attacks rather than fighting each one separately. After a floor, you are shown four random cards and choose one. Cards can improve stats, grant passives, award points or modify a floor or the run.

For roughly the first 30 floors, build a foundation of damage and survival. Small early Fortune rewards are usually less valuable than permanent stats that help you reach later floors, where point rewards become much larger. Cards with valuable permanent effects or run-long point bonuses are the important exceptions.

  • Damage Reduction and Maximum Health: survive harder-hitting enemies.
  • Health Regeneration: recover between dangerous exchanges.
  • Block Points: defend against more attacks before your guard breaks.
  • Additional Damage and Damage Factor: keep your clear speed competitive.
  • Cooldown Reduction: spend less time waiting for your skills.
  • Attack Speed and Movement Speed: usually lower priority than the core stats, unless your build especially benefits from them.

6. The cards worth watching for

Some cards can shape an entire run. Take their benefit and downside into account rather than choosing purely by rarity or the size of a damage number.

  • Lucky Draw: a valuable early pick that can improve the value of the run.
  • Streak: increases points by 5% for each floor cleared without losing a heart, up to a 50% bonus. Protect your hearts to keep the bonus.
  • Boss Rush: adds a boss to every floor and doubles points for the rest of the run. Strong early if you can reliably handle bosses; dangerous if you are already struggling.
  • Vampiric: restores around 1.5% of your health per enemy defeated, providing steady healing across each floor.
  • Plague Bearer, Frostbite, poison and flame effects: useful damage-over-time options while controlling groups and repositioning.
  • Glass Cannon and Heavy Hitter: large damage boosts with health or stamina penalties. Only accept the downside when your setup can support it.
  • Second Wind: can help survival, but do not base your run on being offered it.
  • Shared Points: particularly useful when playing with a party.
✦

Boss Rush is a run-long commitment. Do not confuse it with Boss Hunt, which adds a boss to the next floor.

7. Choose event modifiers carefully

Events and floor modifiers can offer extra point multipliers in exchange for harder conditions. Early in a run, when enemies are still manageable, Fair Fight, Double Time, Horde, Blood Moon, Boss Hunt and Gold Rush can be worth considering. Always read the full modifier before accepting it.

Blood Moon increases enemy damage but reduces their health. Gold Rush increases enemy health for a better reward. Boss Hunt adds another boss to the next floor. Whether these are good choices depends on how comfortably your current build handles the added risk.

Stop accepting dangerous multipliers once enemies are threatening your hearts. Reduced stamina regeneration, faster enemies, bleeding or large enemy-damage increases can become much more punishing later in the run.

Be especially cautious with Iron Discipline. It removes your normal skills and leaves weapons, fists, blocking and dashing. That may be manageable on early floors, but it can take away your reliable crowd control when later floors need it most.

8. Later floors: protect your hearts and take valuable Fortune

After approximately floor 30, consider Fortune more often as the offered points increase. This is a flexible guideline, not a mandatory switch. If your damage, cooldowns or defense are falling behind, take the upgrade that fixes the problem. Surviving another stretch of floors is usually better than grabbing one reward and immediately losing the run.

On early floors, basic attacks can save cooldowns while you keep strong skills for elites, bosses and groups. Later, walking into a group to use basic attacks becomes risky: several enemies can hit together and trap you in a long stun chain. Circle the outside, let enemies group up, and use ranged or area attacks to damage and control them.

If you get stunned, start holding block and dash away when an opening appears. Create distance, interrupt the chase with a ranged or area skill, then recover before re-engaging. Do not rush back into the group just because your strongest move is ready.

Watch the Yeti's beam: it can break your guard, stun you and deal heavy damage. Keep moving and avoid starting a long animation directly in front of it as it prepares an attack. The Hand Demon is generally easier to control, but do not let any boss and nearby enemies surround you.

Normal's three hearts give you room to recover from mistakes, but losing a heart can also cost your Streak bonus. Protect the hearts you have with potions, defensive cards and safe positioning instead of depending on a later rescue card.

9. Reward-room prices and tier-two weapon crafting

When the run ends, you enter the reward area. You earn one free Ouwigahara Chest for every 10 completed floors: 30 completed floors means three free chests. Your earned points can also be spent across the reward-room shops.

The weapon area crafts second-tier weapons. The exact weapon depends on your Breathing or Evil Art. The standard recipe described in this guide is the previous weapon, 500 Metal Scrap, 300 Silk Thread, 10 Mythic Refinement Ore and 90,000 dungeon points. Check your weapon's displayed recipe before spending, and bring the scrap and thread with you.

If you still need that upgrade, reserve the 90,000 points instead of spending them all on random equipment. A small mastery purchase can be worthwhile if it immediately unlocks a useful attack and improves your next run. Once your important skills are unlocked, prioritize weapon progression and chests.

  • Tier-two weapon: 90,000 points plus the previous weapon, 500 Metal Scrap, 300 Silk Thread and 10 Mythic Refinement Ore.
  • Extra Ouwigahara Chest: 30,000 points each, in addition to earned free chests.
  • 1,000 experience: 3,500 points. Usually lower priority because normal quests and farming also provide experience.
  • 1,000 Wen: 2,500 points. Consider it if money is the remaining obstacle to an important upgrade.
  • Rare Refinement Ore: 1,500 points each.
  • Mythic Refinement Ore: 30,000 points each. Avoid buying unless needed urgently; selling rare and mythic items is another source of refinement ores.
  • Random gear: individual pieces can cost 60,000 points or more. Inspect the stats before buying.
  • Mastery: available for weapons, Breathing, fighting styles and Evil Arts; buy only what makes a meaningful immediate difference.

10. Ouwigahara Chests and endgame materials

After essential weapon progression, Ouwigahara Chests are a useful general destination for spare points. They can provide gear, sellable coins and rare materials for Firstlight and Nightfall equipment.

Gear rewards include Demonic Horns II, Silver Fang Mask, Red Oni Mask and Nichirin Lantern, which provide +2 Additional Damage alongside their other bonuses. Flame Amigasa is another useful reward for demons, combining Sun Immunity with damage, health, stamina and stamina regeneration.

The rare crafting materials below are used for powerful Firstlight and Nightfall equipment, including later tier upgrades. They can also appear in World Event Chests; the Tower route lets you farm Ouwigahara Chests while earning dungeon points. Individual rewards are not guaranteed.
